Indonesian Content Creators Association (AKKI) Established, Plans to Focus on Supporting VTubers, Supported by the Indonesian Government

The establishment of Indonesian Content Creators Association (Asosiasi Konten Kreator Indonesia / AKKI), an organization that supports Indonesian content creators, was announced. A major focus of the organization will be to support VTubers.

At the inaugural event, Helmy Yahya was elected president and Deryansha Azhary vice president. Helmy said, “Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), I hope this will be a good way forward for Indonesia.

Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Creative Economy of the Indonesian government (Prabowo’s cabinet), issued a statement saying, “The importance of this association in addressing the challenges faced by content creators and strengthening cooperation between the government and the creative sector is significant." He indicated that he intends to support AKKI.

Kilat.com notes that one of AKKI’s major focuses will be its attitude toward VTubers, who are becoming increasingly popular among the younger generation, and who will be its representative in this regard.

Deryansha said that VTubers have great potential to attract audiences and produce quality content, “I hope this association can address the needs of VTubers and provide the necessary support.

Indonesia is one of the hottest regions in the world today, not only for Japan-based VTuber agencies such as hololive Production and AKA Virtual, but also for the remarkable progress being made by local agencies and indies. With the establishment of AKKI and the support of the Indonesian government, further progress in the Indonesian content industry, including VTubers, is expected.
