VSPO! Operator Virtual Entertainment has Released Information about how it Handles Copyright Infringements, such as the Sale of Sexual Illustrations

Virtual Entertainment Inc. (the Operator of VTuber project “VSPO! (ぶいすぽっ!)"), a Brave group Inc. subsidiary, released a report on January 28 (PST) on the activities of its Anti-Defamation Committee, the company announced that it had reached a settlement with a person who had committed copyright infringement by publishing and selling sexually illustrations of the project’s talents.

The company has identified an individual who created and posted many sexual illustrations of VSPO! talents and sold them on websites, etc. The company then announced that it had reached a settlement with the identified individual, under which the individual will be obligated to pay 20 million yen in damages (however, if the individual complies with the above commitment and promptly pays 2.5 million yen as part of that commitment, the company will be exempt from the remaining obligation to pay) after receiving a commitment from the individual to delete all of the illustrations in question and immediately cease sales, and to refrain from any future acts of copyright infringement or defamation, including posting and selling sexual illustrations of VSPO! and talents affiliated with the company’s group.

In addition, the company claims that it has identified the person in question and is pursuing claims for damages in multiple cases similar to the above, and that it is also pursuing multiple trials and negotiations in parallel against posters, website operators, providers, platforms, etc. for slanderous and defamatory acts against the talents affiliated with the company.

The company (VSPO!) prohibits the creation, publication, and sale of illustrations that depict or suggest sexuality or sex in accordance with the “Guidelines for Reproduction of Derivative Works and Videos".
